Lyrics:

The shame is in the greed.  No, no

The distance of being just out of reach
Is taking its effect on me
Why do I feel the needs of guilty tendencies
Eating away at who I used to want to be
Caught up in the trapping zone
It's almost impossible to keep up

Camouflage
Bandaids for my insecurities
Swimming with the sharks
I've become a killer

What about your heart?
I want the love of my life as of yesterday
Where does it stop?
The more you get, the more you want

Chorus:
Everything you want, you just can't have it
Everything you want, you just can't have it
Everything you want, you just can't have it
Everything you want, you just can't have it

There's always something else around the corner
The appetite is never fully satisfied
Even before you get, you're on to the next
Consuming everything in sight
Living in a fantasy world
Trying to digest the fact
That having everything can make you happy

Work so hard
Fill the void of insecurity
Self-absorbed
I've become the killer

Restless heart
What's left and who needs it anyway
Haunted by thoughts of
The more you get, the more you want

Repeat chorus
-- (You just can't, just can't have it all)
-- (You just can't, just can't have it all)
-- (Woah...)

Woah...
No-no-no no-no no-no-no

Slow down and take a look around you
The simple pleasures will astound you
The weight of everything move around you
Release the burden that you're bound to

Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money (Oh, whoa...)
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money (It's eating away of yourself)
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money (No...)
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money (Don't you want the money, money)
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money

Repeat chorus x 2
-- (You just can't, just can't have it all)
-- (You just can't, just can't have it all)
-- (No no-no, no-no-no no-no-no)
--
-- (Oh, you just can't, just can't have it all)
-- (Oh no, oo oh)
-- (No no-no, no-no-no no-no-no)
--

Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money (Oh no, ooh oh)
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money

(Everything you want, you just can't have it)
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money
(Everything you want, you just can't have it all)
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money
Don't you want it, want it
Want the money, money

[end]
Ah, a non-sex song on Schizophrenic! (If there is sex in this song, I choose not to read between-the-lines on that tangent, as the song can stand on its own without that angle).

Lyrically, the verses are witty and intelligent  (e.g. 'bandaids for my insecurities').  A bit of Id, Ego, Superego play parts; Ego succumbing to the desires of Id, later realizing it can't have it all; then, the Superego in the bridge of the song, saying to slow down.  The echoes / 2nd parts on the later chorus add color and make the song fun.

The melody, pace / beat, is reminiscent of Jamaican songs as well as the theme from the television show, Cops.  (Maybe that isn't quite a stretch as the first lyric is 'the shame is in the greed').  It may not be unique, but it is fun and binds the lyrics to the notes.  The bridge melody is slower to reflect the words, but it doesn't fit in the 'sing along' easy pace; especially when the song goes back to the fast beat.  Even though the the lyrics say 'slow down', it might have worked faster or as an afterthought.

Grade (on a 5-point scale):
Lyrics:  4.3
Music:  3.9
Overall:  4.1
